Pahrump –Pahrump residents are taking advantage of the aligned therapy now offered at Advanced Spine and Posture’s Pahrump location. The practice’s unified approach includes medicine, physical therapy, and Chiropractic BioPhysics under one roof. Las Vegas-based Advanced Spine and Posture merged with the Pahrump practice of Dr. Creig Christennsen late last year, and the beefed up Pahrump location now helps approximately eighty new patients every week.
Six doctors are part of this practice. Dr. David Golan is the medical director for all three locations of Advanced Spine and Posture. His job in Pahrump is to provide clinical oversight for all the providers as part of Advanced Spine and Posture’s best practices. Dr. Golan is a big fan of one of the specialties at Advanced: Chiropractic BioPhysics, also known as CBP.
“Traditional chiropractic is more about symptom care, while CBP prevents symptoms in the future by correcting the curvature of the spine. I want to help prevent the people in Pahrump from developing injuries and problems they would have, if Advanced Spine and Posture weren’t here.”
Dr. Golan’s business partner is chiropractic physician, Dr. Jason Jaeger, who is the current president of the Nevada Chiropractic Physicians Board. He is also the developer of the Universal Tractioning System or UTS, an all-in-one treatment machine for permanently correcting the spine’s alignment.
Dr. Creig Christennsen has been practicing as a chiropractic physician since 1982. He practiced in California from 1982-2005 and worked with many professional sports teams. He moved to Pahrump in 2012. When he met Dr. Jaeger in 2017, Dr. Christennsen mentioned that he wanted to bring unified medical and chiropractic to Pahrump. Dr. Jaeger’s practice was similar to the way Dr. Christennsen practiced in California. They combined forces late last year.
“I truly love what I do. I love being able to positively influence the quality of the lives for the patients on whom I work,” says Dr. Christennsen.
Michael Jonak, M.D., is a longtime Nevada resident. Dr. Jonak has been a general medical practitioner in Pahrump since 2003. He worked with Dr. Christiansen at another office, and when Advanced came in as a partner, Dr. Jonak’s work with Dr. Christiansen became full time.
“I was very excited when I first talked to Dr. Jaeger about the integrated approach, and I’m delighted to bring this method of treatment to the residents of Pahrump,” says Dr. Jonak.
As a medical doctor, Dr. Jonak provides injections, evaluations, physical exams, x-rays, and works closely with the chiropractic physicians. The only drug he administers is lidocaine. The practice does not offer narcotics, sedatives, or controlled substances. No prescriptions are written.
Dr. Todd Polatis has been a chiropractic phyician for more than two years. Dr. Polatis was born and raised on a potato farm in southeast Idaho where he was taught the value of hard work, integrity, and service. He went to college where he earned a bachelors degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. After his wife developed some health issues that traditional medicine couldn’t cure, the couple sought a variety of alternative types of treatment without relief, but after finally seeing a chiropractic biophysics doctor, Dr. Polatis’ wife’s symptoms never returned. He knew that this was his calling and soon applied to chiropractic school at Parker University in Dallas Texas. He is passionate about restoring health through Chiropractic Biophysics.
Chiropractic Physician Dr. Blake Prall has worked at Advanced Spine and Posture’s Pahrump facility for four months. He goes over x-rays with patients, performs adjustments, and oversees the floor.
