Las Vegas – Legacy Traditional Schools, a network of public, tuition-free charter schools in Nevada, held a promotion ceremony for its first eighth-grade graduating class on June 13 at their North Valley campus located in North Las Vegas. 49 eighth-graders were promoted in the ceremony. They will move on to the high school of their choice. 140 kindergarten students were also promoted to first grade in a ceremony held that morning.
Legacy Traditional School’s North Valley principal, faculty and families of Legacy graduating students were in attendance in addition to members of Legacy’s Nevada Governing Board.
“It was an honor to be a part of this milestone in Legacy’s history as we promote the first eighth-grade graduating class in Nevada,” said Christine Fitzsimmons, principal of Legacy Traditional School – North Valley. “Legacy’s rigorous and accelerated back-to-basis curriculum will prepare our students to excel in high school.”
Legacy Traditional School – North Valley is the first Legacy Traditional School in Nevada. The school welcomed 1,200 students for the 2017-2018 school year.
In addition to the North Valley campus, Legacy Traditional Schools will open its Cadence campus, located in the Cadence masterplan community in Henderson, this fall. It is enrolling students now for the 2018-2019 school year. Plans for a third campus in southwest Las Vegas, located at Rainbow and Wigwam, were approved in January. The new campus will begin enrolling this fall for the 2019-2020 school year.
