“What sets us apart is our focus on the individual needs and goals of our clients, helping each person to reach their full potential – whatever that may be,” said Taylor Gardner, Founder of the Garden Foundation. “We all get choices in what we do, our own hobbies and interests; people with disabilities should receive those same choices”
Gardner was born and raised in Las Vegas, graduating from the University of Nevada with a degree in Communications and Journalism. Inspired by her little sister, Lindsay, who was born with Down syndrome, Gardner has been a passionate advocate for the disability community for many years. In the challenge to find a program for her sister that was customized to her needs and goals while enhancing her skillset and socialization, Gardner set out to build an organization that would do just that.
“In a city of this size there should be more organizations and resources for adults with special needs. Not just activities, day care or jobs deemed appropriate. I want them to be doing things they enjoy!” said Gardner.
