The Reno/Sparks Association of REALTORS (RSAR) has named REALTOR and RSAR member, Paul Crooks, recipient of the Spotlight of Excellence Award. The Spotlight of Excellence Award is a biannual honor that recognizes RSAR members who provide selfless and extraordinary service to the community, their clients and customers. The award is in its fourth year.
“The Reno/Sparks Association of REALTORS is honored to announce Paul as a recipient of this award, for his outstanding contributions to our industry and community,” said Doug McIntyre, 2018 RSAR President and REALTOR with Reno Property Management. “He has helped many clients throughout the years. He has also helped many in need as a volunteer in our community, making it a better place to live.”
Crooks is a broker and manager of Crooks Lingad Realty, with 40 years of experience in Reno-Sparks real estate. Crooks, who is well known among veteran Reno/Sparks REALTORS, has been through different cycles in the real estate market during his career. He applies his experience to benefit the needs of buyers and sellers.
Crooks’ real estate services include residential, commercial and industrial properties. He has lived in Reno/Sparks since the 1950s, and has seen the “twin” towns grow to what they are now. He graduated from Bishop Manogue High School, and completed a bachelor’s degree in history, government and economics. He speaks Spanish and Tagalog. He is experienced in assisting multicultural clients buy and sell properties.
Crooks has two REALTOR designations, GRI, SRES, REO Cert and HAFA Cert, with a forte in real estate short sales and bank foreclosures. He is known as an ethical person and community leader. Crooks was a volunteer chaplain with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Department for 17 years and a chaplain with Storey County. He also served as Chaplain for Nevada Highway Patrol for 8 years and Carson City Sheriff’s Office for 2 years.
“Mr. Crooks serves as a chaplain with the Storey County Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff Gerald Antinoro, Storey County Sheriff’s Office. “Mr. Crooks has counseled grieving families, families in crisis and taken the initiative to help those in need both within the Sheriff’s Office and throughout our communities. He is truly a blessing to us and to those he helps.”
