ASCAYA has completed its third Inspiration Home, located at 3 Cloud Chaser Blvd in the Henderson community. Exterior architecture was designed by Hoogland Architecture and interior architecture was designed by Daniel Joseph Chenin, both based in Las Vegas. This is the first of ASCAYA’s Inspiration Homes to be designed by local architecture firms.
The 7,660 square foot home on half an acre of land draws its inspiration from the slot canyon pools found within the Mojave Desert. The home features four bedrooms, five and a half baths, an office and panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains.
“During construction, we took the time to modify the landscape to best frame the views of the city,” said CJ Hoogland, principal of Hoogland Architecture. “It was very important that this home capture the best attributes of the Valley.”
Hoogland’s design puts the home’s overlook on full display with a 16-foot high, 78-foot wide all-glass wall that yields a 180-degree view of the city. “The stunning sight can be seen throughout the home, and on the expansive covered sun deck in the rear,” said sales manager Darin Marques. The home’s natural surroundings complement the interior’s material palette, which includes light grey pickled oak flooring, stunning white marble and rich wood materials throughout the bathrooms and kitchen. A 16-foot wide fireplace that extends from the kitchen to the living area rounds out the setting.
Hoogland’s design also features a grand courtyard entrance, which includes an elegant glass-lined walkway that previews the interiors. The courtyard showcases a living Texas Ebony tree – a centerpiece in the design – that will eventually grow through the roof and capture the attention of residents and guests.
“We researched options for several different species of tree before we chose the Texas Ebony,” said Hoogland. “As it matures and fills in the space, it will eventually become a sculpture – a true piece of art.”
Inside, the home uses design elements to transform its rooms into functional luxury-resort style spaces, said Daniel Chenin, the home’s interior architect. The master bathroom, which takes its inspiration from world-class spas, includes an extra-large bathtub fully surrounded by white marble and a spacious floating-glass-walled shower. Meanwhile, full-length mirrors in the master closet reflect the styles and emotions of major high-end fashion boutiques. “It’s not about decorating for decorations’ sake, but instead about delivering a more meaningful life for this home’s inhabitants,” said Chenin.
The home’s landscaping rounds out its desert-inspired aesthetics. Designed by Chris Attanasio of Attansio Landscape Architecture, the outdoor areas feature lush desert plants and rock features, giving the appearance that the home is resting gently on the natural beauty of the environment. This is complemented by outdoor features that include tile and concrete extending from the home, framing the backyard’s blue-lit infinity-edge pool and Las Vegas city and Strip.
“The Inspiration Homes in ASCAYA are meant to help our owners fully imagine what their future houses might look like in our community,” said Marques. “3 Cloud Chaser is a perfect example of the top-level architectural design our community strives to achieve.”
ASCAYA has invested more than $40 million in the design and development of its Inspiration Homes collection, as well as $25 million in a contemporary clubhouse for the community. The first private residence was completed in early 2017. This month ASCAYA celebrates the completion of Inspiration Homes from both Hoogland Architecture and Lake Flato, giving the community four completed in the collection. Two more Inspiration Homes from renowned architecture firms Swaback Partners and Richard Meier & Partners are under development.
Ivan Sher of Shapiro & Sher Group, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada Properties, is representing 3 Cloud Chaser. The home is listed for sale for $6.5 million. For more information on this home, visit https://www.lasvegasfinehomes.com/property/living-in-the-clouds.
