The Anthem Companies, Inc.
Anthem Companies, one of the largest publicly traded health benefit companies in the country, plans to establish a customer service facility in Las Vegas later this year. In order to serve clients in the Western part of the US, the company is leasing a 75,000 square-foot facility to house back office and customer support operations. This new location is expected to create 400 new positions in the region with $5,448,000 in capital investment.
At Home Group, Inc.
Continuing the company’s nationwide expansion, At Home Group, Inc. has recently opened its first Silver State location in Henderson. Nevada marks the 33rd state in which the home décor superstore operates and its westernmost location in the United States. The store offers home décor items such as furniture, mirrors, rugs, art, housewares and seasonal items occupying more than 140,000 square feet of retail space. At Home Group has brought 25 new jobs to the Southern Nevada community.
Medolac Laboratories
With plans to open new corporate headquarters and a central processing facility in Clark County, Medolac is expanding its product line to serve infants and children with immune and metabolic disorders. The expansion is projected to create 85 new positions over the next five years with capital investments of $5,614,130 and provide partnerships with Nevada State College for learning opportunities in the fields of manufacturing, healthcare and life sciences.
Starbucks Coffee Company
The worldwide coffee company and coffeehouse chain has plans to grow operations of its manufacturing facility in Douglas County over the next year. An addition of 700,000 square feet will be added to the distribution portion of the Carson Valley Roasting Plant and Distribution Center and is slated for completion in summer 2018. The expansion will create nearly 100 new jobs at the Minden location after the first year of completion, including manager, supervisor and distribution partner positions, bringing the total number of employees to 350.
