LAS VEGAS – In honor of the upcoming school year, locally-owned businesses Simmons Group and Grand Canyon Development Partners are teaming up to help “Fill the Bus” for Communities In Schools (CIS) of Nevada’s fifth annual school supply drive.
Put on those backpacks, grab packs of multi-colored markers and head down to Simmons Group and Grand Canyon at 6841 S. Eastern Ave., Ste. #103, Las Vegas, NV, 89119, Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. from now through August 3 to drop off supplies. The companies’ teams will drop off the donations to CIS that following weekend.
CIS of Nevada is looking for traditional school supplies as well as uniform clothing items. Supplies needed include:
• Backpacks for all ages
• Colored pencils
• One- and two-inch binders
• College- and wide-ruled notebooks
• Pocket folders
• Markers, crayons
• Mechanical pencils
• Pencil sharpeners
Uniform pieces, like navy and white polo shirts and khaki and navy slacks, for elementary and middle school-age children are needed, as well as gift cards to locations where uniforms can be purchased. CIS of Nevada students currently have enough composition notebooks and wide- and college-ruled paper to last throughout the school year.
