Nevada State Bank presented a check for $8,000 to Ruby Thomas Elementary School in celebration of Teach Children to Save and to support the school’s education efforts. In addition, colleagues from the bank presented timely financial lessons on “saving money” to the First and Second grade students. April 28 marked the 20th anniversary of National Teach Children to Save Day.
Teach Children to Save (TCTS), a free national program sponsored by the American Bankers Association Foundation, organizes banker volunteers throughout the year to help young people develop a savings habit early in life. Celebrated annually during April, Financial Literacy Month, this annual awareness day is an opportunity for bankers to demonstrate their commitment to the community by teaching young people the value of saving.
Nevada State Bank has been a Clark County School District Focus School Partner with Ruby Thomas Elementary School for more than 20 years.
