WHAT: Community leaders, public health professionals, educators and legislators will gather in an effort to improve health care for all Nevadans at the first Nevada Population Health Conference. The conference will focus on implementing innovative programs through the collective efforts by the public and private sectors, and conference topics will include population health management, rural health, technology, the Affordable Care Act and instructions on starting and operating Medical Legal Partnerships (MLPs). The event will be linked between the Reno and Las Vegas locations by videoconference. In Las Vegas, the conference will be held at the UnitedHealthcare/Health Plan of Nevada campus and in Reno at the University of Nevada, Reno Innevation Center.
The conference was organized by Holland & Hart LLP, UnitedHealthcare/Health Plan of Nevada, University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) School of Community Health Sciences, UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law, UNLV Health Law Program, UNLV School of Medicine, Nevada State Medical Association, Nevada Public Health Training Center and Nevada Public Health Association.

•Evidence and Action: Turning Population Health Science into Population Health Improvement featuring Susan Dentzer, national health expert and President of Network for Excellence in Health Innovation.
•Health Legislation Panel Discussion: Led by former Assemblyman and Valley Health Systems Chief Academic Officer Andy Eisen, M.D, the panel will feature Nevada legislators Sen. Joe Hardy and Assemblymen James Oscarson, Nelson Araujo and Mike Sprinkle.
