Joel Just, chief executive officer of Nevada Association Services, Inc., announced that his company, which collects overdue community association assessments through nonjudicial foreclosure, has acquired ATC Assessment Collection Group and hired ATC’s president, Norman Rosensteel, as vice president for Nevada Association Services, Inc. Rosensteel is charged with integrating the two companies.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The acquisition also further strengthens NAS, Inc.’s foothold in northern Nevada, with plans for Rosensteel to play a key role with clients, associations and boards in the area and state-wide.
Rosensteel, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, NVEBP, is a Certified Manager of Community Associations, Association Management Specialist, Professional Community Association Manager and a Nevada Educated Business Partner.
“Joining with a larger firm will help us better service our clients and we are happy to be joining with Nevada Association Services because of their high standards and dedication to the industry,” Rosensteel said. “We feel confident with Joel Just’s leadership.”
Norman Rosensteel has been involved in the community association management industry for 30 years and his background includes association management as well as collections work. He was an onsite manager, then CEO and principle owner of Associated Management, Inc, a Nevada community association management firm. At its peak, AMI managed 110 associations with 75 employees and maintained offices in Reno, Sparks, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Nevada and Roseville, California.
Rosensteel is a long-time board member and committee member for the Community Associations Institute’s Nevada Chapter. He is currently a board member of CAI-Nevada Chapter and was President in 2002 and 2014. He was also a founding member of CAMEO and a two time president of the group of Nevada management company owners.
Rosensteel is also serving his fourth term on the CAI-Nevada Legislative Action Committee and second year as co-chair, and is president of the CAI-Nevada Political Action Committee
He instructs numerous educational classes for community managers and association board members, and has been active in the Nevada state legislature for the last 10 sessions. He has been a speaker and instructor at various events on the local, state and national level for 20 years and also owns an association and management consulting firm, Innova C.S. LLC.
Just, of NAS, Inc., said he has known and respected Rosensteel for many years and feels his background in community management will serve him especially well in his new role with NAS, Inc. “Norm knows what managers need and what community association board members would like to see,” he said, adding that the good economy has caused some instability for the collections industry.
“It is very important for associations to be timely in pursuing collecting on their past due assessments,” he said. “Especially with so much liability involved for community managers, we are seeing more HOA boards outsourcing their collections to us. Collaboration and education have never been more important.”
Nevada Association Services, Inc., at 6224 W. Desert Inn Road, is Nevada’s largest “no cost to the homeowner association” collections company, specializing in collections for community associations.
