Bank of Nevada Scholarship Recipient To Pursue Business Degree at UNLV

Marcelle Cruzado, recipient of the Bank of Nevada Forward Together Scholarship, will pursue a degree in business in the fall at UNLV.

LAS VEGAS – Marcelle Cruzado, a graduate of Southwest Career & Technical Academy (SWCTA) and recipient of the Bank of Nevada Forward Together Scholarship, will pursue a degree in business in the fall at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).

Cruzado was among 34 applicants for the scholarship which is awarded to an SWCTA student based on academic skill, grade point average, community service and essay. The $3,000 scholarship was presented May 18, 2016, at the Public Education Foundation Scholarship Recognition Luncheon. This is the fifth year the Forward Together Scholarship has been offered to an SWCTA student by Bank of Nevada, a division of Western Alliance Bank.

While at SWCTA, Cruzado was enrolled in the Hospitality program and maintained a 3.88 cumulative GPA. She held the position of SWCTA DECA Historian her sophomore year and SWCTA DECA Vice President her junior year. As a junior, she was elected DECA Vice President of Southern Nevada, just recently completing her term in February of 2016.
