HENDERSON – Mary Beth Hartleb of Prism Global Management Group LLC will present “How the FLSA Changes Will Impact Your Business” during the Henderson Chamber of Commerce’s networking breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Revere Golf Course, 2600 Hampton Road in Henderson.
The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), under the Department of Labor, establishes minimum wage, overtime pay, recordkeeping and youth employment standards for all employees. Exemptions to overtime are expected to be released by the Department of Labor as early as late spring, and, if adopted, revisions would increase the minimum salary needed to qualify for the FLSA’s standard white collar exemptions.
During the breakfast, Hartleb will discuss what employers may need to do to reclassify exempt employees as nonexempt by the end of the year, which is when the Department of Labor plans to make final rules effective.
Hartleb’s career spans more than 25 years in the human resources field, working for Fortune 500 companies while developing human resources departments for smaller, entrepreneurial ventures. Experienced in various industries such as gaming, restaurant, association management, telecommunications, retail, broadcasting, manufacturing, engineering, nonprofit organizations and government, she founded Prism Global Management Group LLC in 2003.
The presentation is sponsored by Enviro Safe Pest Control.
Cost for the breakfast is $28 for members and $48 for non-members. There will be an additional $10 charge for walk-ins. The last day to RSVP is 1 p.m. Friday, June 10. Cancellations are required by the RSVP deadline to receive a refund. RSVP online at hendersonchamber.com.
