PAHRUMP – Valley Electric Association, Inc. (VEA), a member-owned electric cooperative headquartered in Pahrump, is scheduled to host six district meetings across its service area this month. The meetings, which are open to all VEA members in their respective service districts, will provide attendees with valuable information about the cooperative’s achievements during the past year, as well as its direction for the future. These meetings serve as precursors to the cooperative’s 2016 Annual Membership Meeting for all VEA members, which will take place on Saturday, April 23 at Pahrump Valley High School.
Each district meeting will include a statement from the district’s elected member of the VEA Board of Directors and a detailed report from CEO Tom Husted, who will discuss the cooperative’s latest achievements and its ongoing member-focused efforts.
Attendees will have an opportunity to win power bill credits and prizes at each of the six district meetings. VEA will also offer refreshments for attendees.
This year, VEA members in districts 2 and 4 have the opportunity to select the individual who will represent their communities on the cooperative’s democratically elected Board of Directors. District 2, which includes residents of Amargosa Valley, Crystal and Ash Meadows, will finalize its election during a district meeting on Tuesday, March 22. District 4, which includes residents of Fish Lake Valley, Lida and Gold Point, will host its district meeting and finalize its election on Wednesday, March 23. Detailed information about the voting process has been mailed to VEA members. For additional information about the elections, please visit www.vea.coop.
