Working Group brings drug abuse awareness to Nevada’s communities
LAS VEGAS — Solutions Recovery Inc., a leading addiction treatment center in Las Vegas, commends Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt for his ingenuity in renewing the Substance Abuse Working Group (SAWG). The group was initially created in 2011 to identify and study issues related to substance abuse across Nevada.
“As a concerned Nevadan and as a parent, I am honored to serve our Attorney General, Adam Laxalt, as a member of the Substance Abuse Working Group,” said Solutions Recovery President David Marlon. “Addiction is the number one health problem in our state. I’m excited to get to work with other professionals to address treatment, prevention and enforcement to combat this grave trend, particularly towards our youth.”
On behalf of Solutions Recovery, David Marlon previously worked in collaboration with SAWG to develop a public service announcement and contest amongst local teens to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse.
“Substance abuse results in behavioral and biological health issues that affect individuals, families and communities, and costs our nation more than $700 billion in crime, lost work productivity and health care each year,” said Attorney General Laxalt. “I am pleased to reinstate this working group that will study methods and resources to combat statewide substance abuse in an effort to address this local and national problem.”
