Type of Business: Healthcare Network | Hails from: Skanor, Sweden | 9 year with company in Nevada | Based in: Reno
How did you first get into your profession?
I became a registered nurse in Sweden and worked in many different healthcare settings, including trauma. An early mentor steered me to executive healthcare leadership that eventually took me to the US in 1990.
What is your pet peeve?
I don’t mind bad news but I really dislike surprises.
What do you want your legacy to be?
In another 108 years Saint Mary’s will still serve the healthcare needs of Northern Nevada!
When you were a kid, what did you want to be?
A singer.
What business advice would you give someone just starting in your industry?
Keep your eyes open for opportunities. Don’t be afraid to try something new.
What is a little known fact about yourself?
I worked as an RN on a cruise ship in Southeast Asia.
If you could be any fictional character, who would you be?
That’s easy; Harry Potter! Imagine being able to fix most everything with a flick of a wand!!
If you could have coined a single phrase of wisdom, what would it be?
“Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.” (John Wooden)
If you could take back one sentence you’ve ever spoken, what would it be?
I’ll switch “why did you do that?” for “tell me why you did that” every time!
What do you wish you would have learned at the beginning of your career?
To be more patient and enjoy every step of the journey.
What is your motto?
Maintain integrity; that you are able to look yourself in the mirror at the end of every day with no regrets.
