LAS VEGAS – Just in time for the holidays, Nevada State Bank donated 4,850 non-perishable food items, or 11 barrels, to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. The donation is the result of contributions from bank colleagues and the community.
“The Las Vegas Rescue Mission has such a great impact on our community and Nevada State Bank is proud of our long-time partnership,” said Craig Kirkland, executive vice president, director of retail banking for Nevada State Bank and member of the Las Vegas Rescue Mission board of directors. “We thank our colleagues, clients and the community for their support for this wonderful yearly drive to help those in need this time of year.”
In addition to the annual food drive, Nevada State Bank colleagues volunteer their time to serve meals at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission throughout the year and participate in the annual Walk a Mile in My Shoes event that raises awareness of the struggles faced by local homeless.
Founded in 1970, the Las Vegas Rescue Mission provides meals, shelters and recovery programs to people in need. The organization serves approximately 30,000 meals a month. The Rescue Mission also operates a thrift store at 480 W. Bonanza Road.
