Labor and Employment Law Firm is First National Firm to Relocate Downtown
LAS VEGAS – Fisher & Phillips LLP announced that the Southern Nevada office has moved to Downtown Las Vegas, making it the first national law firm to relocate to the burgeoning downtown area. The firm limits its practice to the representation of employers in all aspects of labor law, employment law, employee benefits and business immigration.
Now located in the storied Bank of America Plaza at 300 S. 4th Street, the prominent labor and employment law firm moved to be part of the area’s vibrant resurgence. The new location also allows the firm’s attorneys and staff increased access to clients and government agencies throughout Southern Nevada.
As part of its newly established presence downtown, the firm is planning to present, along with the City of Las Vegas, an “HR Academy.” This series of free seminars will help downtown businesses deal with real life workplace issues that have serious legal consequences. The seminars will take place at City Hall during the first half of 2016. More information will be available in December on the firm’s, website www.laborlawyers.com<http://www.laborlawyers.com.
“We’re thrilled Fisher and Phillips LLC chose to locate its Southern Nevada office in our wonderful downtown,” said Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman. “The leadership at Fisher and Phillips could have picked anywhere in our valley as its location. Downtown Las Vegas is making a phenomenal resurgence, and top companies are realizing all it has to offer.”
With its new location, Fisher & Phillips is situated across from the National Labor Relations Board and is closer to the Nevada Employee Management Relations Board, enabling the firm to better serve its many clients whose employees are represented by unions.
“We are looking forward to continuing to assist downtown businesses – along with all of our other statewide clients – by providing practical business solutions for employers’ workplace legal problems,” said Mark Ricciardi, Fisher & Phillips Regional Managing Partner. “Our attorneys work with employers of all sizes and in all industries on any issue that emerges in the workplace. Employers face new challenges created by laws permitting medical marijuana, recent court decisions in the area of disability and pregnancy protection, and looming proposed regulations which will drastically change which employees can be considered exempt from the overtime pay. Even without any new laws most employers still need assistance dealing with employee complaints of harassment, discrimination or wrongful termination.”
Nationwide, the firm employs 330 attorneys across 31 offices. The attorneys in the Las Vegas office assist clients in the areas of employment discrimination and harassment, labor arbitration, collective bargaining, retaliation and wrongful termination claims, severance agreements, wage and hour law, union avoidance, union campaigns and elections, and OSHA inspections and litigation.
