Las Vegas – Smith’s Food & Drug Stores is growing again in Southern Nevada.
Through the second half of 2015, Smith’s is slated to remodel four Las Vegas area locations and build three new fuel centers, bringing its total 2015 investment in the Southern Nevada region to $40.5 million. The newest fuel center recently opened to the public at 1000 N. Green Valley Parkway in Henderson, with the other two set to open later this year. Customers of Smith’s fuel centers can use fuel points earned during their grocery shopping trips to save up to $1 per gallon at the pump.
“We are committed to the Southern Nevada market. Our friendly associates, convenience of fuel centers and newly remodeled stores help to create the memorable shopping experience that we strive to deliver for our customers,” said Jay Cummins, Smith’s president.
These Smith’s stores will remain open during the remodeling process, which is expected to last about six weeks:
- 55 S. Valle Verde Drive, Henderson
- 7130 N. Durango Drive, Las Vegas
- 10100 W. Tropicana Ave., Las Vegas
- 10616 S. Eastern Ave., Henderson
Smiths’ at 55 S. Valle Verde in Henderson will celebrate the completion of its $2.5 million remodel with a June 10 ribbon cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. that will also feature community donations. The 52,000-square-foot store features a larger consultation area for pharmacy customers and expanded products in organic produce, kosher, deli, bulk foods and meats. As with other recent store remodels, this Smith’s new décor package includes rich wood floors and merchandise display tables and warm wall colors.
The Smith’s Southern Nevada 2015 investment plan began in March with the opening of six new area Smith’s stores that formerly were Food 4 Less locations, representing a $25 million project. In addition to its store-level activities, Smith’s also is investing in the community in charitable ways. This year, Smith’s will surpass the $1 million mark in donations for the St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation Charity Care Program, and already has held special events that benefit those helped by The Shade Tree, Communities in Schools of Nevada and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada, among others.
Smith’s operates 37 locations and 14 fuel centers in Southern Nevada. For more information, please visit www.smithsfoodanddrug.com.
