I was asked by the dean of the college of business at UNR to develop a proposal to the U.S. Small Business Administration to create a Small Business Development Center for Nevada; this was in May, 1985.
What is your pet peeve?
People who talk too much (and have nothing to say) and don’t listen.
What do you want your legacy to be?
Someone who helped build a creative organization – that is a great place to work – that ultimately helped our small business clients realize their dreams of owning and operating a successful business.
What is the best moment of your career?
When my peers selected me as President of the Association of Small Business Development Centers – this national agency represents 63 states/regions in the U.S. with a combined budget of over $500 million.
