These sponsors will partner with the Reno Bike Project and the Washoe County Health District to spread awareness on the importance of physical activity; clean air; and, to support local businesses.
“The City of Reno is proud to support RenOpen Streets, part of the international Cyclovia movement that promotes healthy and vibrant communities by closing streets for a day and giving people an area to celebrate, walk, bike, dance and play,” said Alexis Hill, special events manager for the City of Reno. “The new event meets the City’s priorities of a Vibrant Downtown and Safe & Healthy Neighborhoods. We look forward to seeing residents and visitors enjoying a traffic-free day during RenOpen Streets, and embracing a healthier lifestyle.”
Having common goals, RTC proudly supports RenOpen Streets and encourages the community to use alternative forms of transportation promoting physical activity, keeping the air clean and enhancing the quality of life in the Truckee Meadows.
“RenOpen Streets will foster clean air, active transportation and a healthy lifestyle while helping to reduce traffic congestion, fuel emissions and air pollution,” said Lee Gibson, executive director of RTC. “RenOpen Streets enables the public to visit and support local businesses within the downtown vicinity and the Truckee River area in a safe and traffic-free zone.”
