ArrowData Receives FAA Approval to Operate Drones for News Gathering
A Las Vegas-based aerial data services company, ArrowData, has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to operate drones for electronic news gathering. The approval marks ArrowData as the nationās first company to receive approval to use drones for this purpose. The company is also the first Nevada company to receive an exemption by the FAA to fly unmanned aircraft for commercial purposes.
Regional Outreach Co-Op Proactively Broadcasts Northern Nevada Successes
A partnership between the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, the City of Reno, the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County, the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority and the University of Nevada, Reno has formed the Regional Outreach Co-Op. The co-opās goal is to unify and amplify Northern Nevadaās positive economic, tourism, education and entrepereneurship stories through public relations campaigns.
Las Vegas Perspective Released
Recently the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA) published its 35th annual Las Vegas Perspective, a comprehensive market overview compiled by LVGEA and local research and analysis company, Applied Analysis. According to the report, Southern Nevadaās population has gone up by 1.7 percent as compared to previous yearās numbers. In addition, enrollment at UNLV and the Nevada State College have both increased and the unemployment rate has gone down by 1.8 percent. Visitor volume has also posted a 3.7 percent increase over 2013 numbers.
