LAS VEGAS – The PENTA Building Group, a leading commercial contractor with offices in multiple states, announced recently it has hired 21 new staff members in Nevada and California, many filling leadership and executive positions. The company has also announced three new promotions.
PENTA’s new hires in Nevada include:
Bob Gaus, Project Executive
With more than 35 years of experience in the construction industry, Gaus’ recent work includes managing the construction team for the $4 billion Hudson Yards redevelopment project in New York as vice president of operations. He also served as the project executive for the $2.5 billion construction of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Greg Darling, Superintendent
Prior to joining PENTA, Darling held positions such as project manager, superintendent and quality manager at McCarthy Building Companies in Henderson, Nevada.
Ralph Sibley, Project Manager
Sibley brings approximately 10 years in the construction industry to PENTA. Prior to joining the company, he worked as senior engineer for the Tutor Perini Building Company.
Brad Parnell, Project Engineer
Parnell’s previous experience includes construction inspection, construction surveying and civil field engineer work for companies such as Hennessy Surveying in Indiana, Davis Land Surveying & Engineering in Michigan and Bowen Engineering Corporation in Tennessee.
Don Apodaca, Superintendent
Apodaca offers more than 20 years of experience in managing construction projects, including hotel room renovations, restaurants and casino remodels. His previous experience includes working as the executive director of facilities for John Ascuaga’s Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks, Nevada.
Leo Erhardt, Superintendent
Prior to working with PENTA, Erhardt served as jobsite superintendent for GSF Enterprise, Inc. in Florida. Erhardt has more than 27 years of experience in the construction industry.
Marlyne Alderete, Project Engineer
Alderete’s past experience includes working for Silver Creek Industries, Inc. in Perris, California.
Nicoleta Rotaru, Project Engineer
Rotaru previously worked for PENTA from 2007 to 2009. She has also served as the leisure sales manager for Caesars Entertainment.
Dina Gattuso, Payroll Administrator
Prior to coming to PENTA, Gattuso worked for Randstad Professionals in Las Vegas as a payroll clerk.
Charlie Capps, Superintendent
Capps previously worked with W.A. Richardson Builders in Las Vegas.
Ken King, Superintendent
Prior to joining PENTA, King worked at Swinerton Builders.
Siddharth Kothari, Building Information Modeling (BIM) Engineer
A recent University of Illinois graduate, Kothari just completed a summer internship with Autodesk Inc. as a design construction integration intern.
Tanuj Patel, Project Engineer
A recent graduate of the University of Southern California, Patel’s prior experience includes working as a BIM engineer and computer-aided drafting (CAD) assistant for the university’s Capital Construction Development department.
Michael Whitmire, Project Manager
Prior to joining PENTA, Whitmire worked on the Hudson Yards redevelopment project in New York with Tutor Perini Building Company.
Greg MacClennen, Superintendent
MacClennen’s previous experience includes owning and operating his own company, building large custom homes, swimming pools and large RV garages.
Lacey Tisler, Project Engineer
Prior to joining PENTA, Tisler served as a project professional for Robison Engineering Company, Inc. in Sparks, Nevada.
PENTA’s new staff members in California include:
Jeff Janakus, Director Southern California
In his new role, Janakus assumes responsibility over all Southern California markets. He brings over 20 years experience in the design and construction industry to PENTA, including serving as Principal at Bluepoint Development in Las Vegas and Vice President of Design and Construction at Station Casinos in Las Vegas as well as previously working as a structural engineer. He has been involved with projects across a wide range of industries, including hospitality, gaming, sports facilities, higher education and health care.
Kyle Seeman, Project Executive
Seeman’s previous experience includes working as director of project management and senior project executive for ETC Building and Design in San Diego.
Edgar Gonzalez, Project Engineer
Edgar has previously worked for J.L.G. Construction in Visalia, California, serving as field supervisor on the San Jose Creek Water Reclamation Plant and the Gershwin Apartments projects.
Brison Green, Project Engineer
Prior to joining PENTA, Green worked for Estrada Construction in Chino, California for more than 10 years.
Scott Rodarte, Project Manager
Rodarte previously served as a project manager for SMC Construction in Reno, Nevada.

Chad Robertson, Project Manager
Since joining the PENTA team in 2011, Robertson has served as a project engineer and also a senior project engineer in Las Vegas.
John Butler, Senior Project Engineer
Butler first joined PENTA in June 2012 as a project engineer.
Lori Mathisen, Senior Project Engineer
Mathisen started working with PENTA in June 2012 as a project engineer.
