LAS VEGAS – The Outside Las Vegas Foundation (OLVF), the collaborative outdoor organization which creates inspiring experiences and protects natural resources for multipurpose use, was named a “2015 Outstanding Organization” by the Nevada Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board (NBPAB) for its advocacy and promotion for the safety of cyclists and pedestrians across the state of Nevada.
“Outside Las Vegas Foundation is honored by this recognition as we work to increase the quantity and quality of outside experiences for residents and tourists alike,” said Mauricia Baca, executive director of Outside Las Vegas Foundation. “Southern Nevada’s has great places for residents and visitors to walk and bike. We proudly work with like-minded organizations to make walking and biking as safe and fun as possible.”
The award was given at the 2015 Bicycle and Pedestrian Summit, held on Tuesday, May 5. The Summit was a gathering of safety, informational and city organizations to discuss a variety of transportation topics including; complete streets, law enforcement initiatives, aging populations, non-motorized tourism, safe routes to schools, workshops and other activities.
NBPAB was created by the Nevada State Legislature to promote programs and facilities, and advise appropriate agencies, for the safety and enjoyment of bicycling and pedestrian activities.
Outside Las Vegas Foundation is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization connecting residents to the Valley’s diverse and unique outdoor spaces through education and volunteer programs.
