McDonald’s Southern Nevada locations and nonprofit Spread the Word Nevada
WHAT:
During the “I’m Lovin’ It” summer book drive, hosted by McDonald’s and Spread the Word Nevada, community members will receive a complimentary vanilla cone in exchange for donating new or gently used children’s books to any participating McDonald’s restaurant in Southern Nevada. Limit of one vanilla cone per person.
Ronald McDonald and local celebrities will also volunteer their time to conduct live children’s book readings during the event at McDonald’s restaurants throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
All book donations will support Spread the Word Nevada’s literacy programs and students in the Clark County School District.

WHY:
McDonald’s and Spread the Word Nevada are working together to host this two-day book drive to promote reading among children across Southern Nevada.
Spread the Word Nevada is dedicated to advancing early childhood literacy by placing books into the hands and homes of children within Southern Nevada’s at-risk, low-income communities. Since 2001, Spread the Word Nevada has distributed approximately 3 million gently used and new books to more than 387,000 low-income youth in Southern Nevada.
Throughout the year, McDonald’s Southern Nevada franchisees support numerous programs focusing on education, literacy and the well-being of children.
