Lisa Escobar elevates spaces to elegance.
As a Las Vegas-based decorator and stylist, she has created eye-popping spaces on the Strip and off, in high-end luxury condominiums, commercial spaces, restaurants and homes.
Escobar, who designs locally and acquires globally, has turned her eye to Mandarin Oriental. By pulling items from around the world, she designed a high-rise condo space to suit adventure-hungry or escape-seeking businesspeople. The open 2,500-square-foot floor plan and floor-to-ceiling custom drapes offer luxurious privacy. A full kitchen and open floor plan accommodate nights in or social gatherings.
The condo oozes opulence, with hand-painted aluminum panels from Italy, made-to-order wall coverings from Thailand and a 6-foot terra-cotta Hun statue from China. An ultradeep sofa and oversized swivel chairs in the main room create instant comfort. The master bath suite featuring 250 ceramic koi fish offers a splash of dazzle.
Open the shades and the Strip beckons. Panoramic views neon peek through the windows, urging the condo’s residents to come out and play.
Escobar’s vintage cool aesthetic reflects in décor displays at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ Boulevard Pool shop. For a Las Vegas-meets-the-Hamptons vibe, she collected a 1980s era surfboard, a brass starboard light and shark teeth and created original three-dimensional art. She worked fast, completing the project in two weeks. At hotel-casino’s Bond Lounge, she created five custom hide rugs with materials from Argentina.
Turning from residential to commercial, she shaped the Mac Shack Pasta Kitchen’s interior, choosing light fixtures, booth seating and dining chairs and using reclaimed wood throughout. She designed murals and custom pasta boiler sinks in the restaurant’s restrooms. And, collaborating with the restaurant’s owner, she created a front-of-restaurant vignette, using pieces from Etsy, eBay and downtown Las Vegas shops.
Escobar, named by Build Direct as one the “15 Best Interior Designers in Las Vegas,” developed her aesthetic through world travel and her trendsetting hospitality experience. Before becoming an entrepreneur and opening Lisa Escobar Design in 2012, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas graduate spent 10 years working alongside hotel executives, nightclub owners and high-profile clientele at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore.
