Rising country music star Craig Campbell is headlining the 9th annual Country in the Park outdoor concert and festival. The freevent is Saturday, May 9 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Exploration Park, located at 9700 So. Buffalo Drive in Mountain’s Edge. Country in the Park is presented by the best-selling Mountain’s Edge Master Planned Community and New Country 95.5 The Bull.
In addition to the concert, Country in the Park will feature a beer garden, food vendors, booths, exhibits and more. Guests are welcome to bring blankets, picnic baskets, chairs and well-behaved, leashed pets, and enjoy festivities in Exploration Park’s amphitheater with its scenic mountain backdrop. The 80-acre park also has an Old Western village, Native American play structures, archeological dig area, splash pad, picnic areas, and the 2,846-foot-tall Exploration Peak with hiking and cycling trails and panoramic views of the Las Vegas Valley.
Campbell released his self-titled debut album Craig Campbell for Bigger Picture Music Group in 2011, which included the single “Outta My Head.” Despite the success of his first and second record, Bigger Picture Music Group shut its doors. However when the label closed, Campbell’s single “Keep Them Kisses Comin’” continued its momentum on the radio and became his biggest single, reaching No. 9 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. Now signed to Red Bow Records, he’s working on his anticipated third studio album.
Raelynn, a Texas native, was a quarterfinalist on Season 2 of NBC’s The Voice in 2012. She released her debut EP titled Me in January, which landed at No. 7 on the Top Country Albums chart and No. 49 on the Billboard 200. Her hit single “God Made Girls” rose to No. 7 on the Billboard Country chart, and was certified Gold.
Opening the show is Thrillbilly Deluxe, a local country and southern rock band which has built a dedicated and growing following who enjoy the foursome’s covers of hit songs as well as classics and standards.
Performance times are Thrillbilly Deluxe from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by Raelynn from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., and culminating with Craig Campbell from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Times are subject to change.
