LAS VEGAS – De Castroverde Law Group is pleased to announce former Clark County Family Court Judge William B. Gonzalez joined the firm on Jan. 5 to lead its expanding Family Law Department. Gonzalez will be working with attorney Jennifer Gastelum, who has been handling the firm’s family law cases.
“We are proud to have such an experienced attorney and community leader join our firm,” said firm partner Alex De Castroverde. “I have known Bill for about 15 years and have come to respect and admire his work as an attorney and as a former Family Court judge. He is devoted to helping Southern Nevada children and families.”
Gonzalez has been practicing law in Nevada since 1997. He served as a Family Court judge in Clark County Family Court Department F from 2009 to 2014. Prior to his tenure in Family Court, Gonzalez worked as a Clark County deputy public defender for 10 years and as an associate attorney for two years with another local law firm. He is fluent in Spanish and very active in local organizations serving the Hispanic and overall community.

Gonzalez, who has lived in Las Vegas since 1997, received his law degree from J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He holds an MBA in international management from the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California and a degree in business and management from Redlands University in Redlands, California.
In addition to his legal career, Gonzalez is dedicated to community service. He has served on the Advisory Board for the Boyd School of Law Clinical Program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, for the past five years. He has served as Boy Scout leader for the local Las Vegas Unit 269 for the past 14 years. Gonzalez currently serves as a merit badge counselor for the citizenship in the nation and citizenship in the world merit badges. He also serves as a volunteer judge for local high school mock trial programs. Additionally, he served as the vice-chairman of the City of Las Vegas Housing Authority from June 2003 to June 2007. Gonzalez is married to his wife of 27 years, Ana Maria, and has four children, ages 14 to 26.
