LAS VEGAS – MassMedia, a full-service public relations, advertising and marketing firm with offices in Las Vegas and Irvine, California, raised 4,500 pounds of food including 86 turkeys, for Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada during its fourth annual Feeding the Masses Thanksgiving Food Drive.
According to Leslie Carmine, media and community relations director for Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, MassMedia’s annual donations are among the largest the nonprofit receives during the Thanksgiving holiday each year. Carmine estimates that the agency’s donation of staple food items will help feed at least 4,500 families this year.
“The wonderful work that MassMedia is doing allows families across the Las Vegas Valley to celebrate Thanksgiving,” Carmine said. “Without essential donations from organizations like MassMedia, many of the families that rely on our organization may not be able to have a meal during the holidays.”
MassMedia’s contributions completed baskets given out at the Hands of Hope Community Food Pantry and also stocked the shelves of the community food pantry at Catholic Charities, which provides free groceries to families and individuals in need.
Marcus Marks, who has been a beneficiary of Catholic Charities for almost three years, expressed gratitude for MassMedia’s ongoing support.
“I am very grateful, because I am on a fixed income and trying to support my family,” Marks said. “We would not have a turkey without your help. I appreciate it dearly.”
Four teams within the agency competed to see which one could raise the most donations during MassMedia’s Thanksgiving food drive. Dozens of local businesses, organizations and community members contributed food items and funds to make the agency’s monthlong food drive a success.
MassMedia would like to thank the following companies for their generous contributions: Remedy’s Tavern, Smart City Networks, Beasley Broadcasting, KPVM-TV Inc., iHeartMedia, KVVU Broadcasting Corporation, Cox Media Group, KLAS-TV, Lotus Communications Corp., KOB-TV, Cox Media Group, Lamar Advertising Co., Greenspun Media Group, KRQE Media Group, Robertson+Partners, Master Built Construction LLC and the Centennial Costco.
“Giving back to the community is a central element of our business philosophy at MassMedia, and we all look forward to our Thanksgiving food drive each year,” said Kassi Belz, president of MassMedia. “We value opportunities to partner with organizations like Catholic Charities that help so many community members in Southern Nevada.”
