United Blood Services of Las Vegas
The Charlie Bonnici Community Memorial Blood drive at JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort and Spa & Rampart Casino at The Resort at Summerlin
Find the hero in you! Volunteer blood donors are needed in Las Vegas year-round. United Blood Services is calling on all community members to donate blood in honor of broadcast sales veteran Charlie Bonnici.
Bonnici passed away due to cancer-related complications. Throughout his treatment Bonnici required a significant amount of life-saving blood. He promised he would give back once he made it through his treatment. Upon Bonnici’s passing, his brother Tony Bonnici, vice president and general manager of Lotus Broadcasting, launched the Charlie Bonnici Memorial Blood Drive in respect of his brother’s last wish.
To honor their generosity, all volunteer donors at this blood drive will receive a voucher for one admission to the Rampart Buffet and a Rampart Casino gift item.
Donors will also be eligible to receive the following raffle prizes courtesy of the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort:
- One night deluxe accommodations at the resort and breakfast for two at the Ceres Restaurant
- Dining certificate for the Ceres Restaurant or The Carmel Room
- Dining certificate at J.C. Wooloughan’s Irish Pub
As Southern Nevada’s community blood provider, United Blood Services relies on blood donations to make sure blood is available for anyone who needs it. UBS currently has a need for all blood types, especially O negative. O negative is the universal blood type and the only type that can be transfused to patients with different blood types.
Donors are encouraged to make an appointment and can do so by calling 702-233-9620 or by using the sponsor code “RAMPART” on the United Blood Services’ website (www.unitedbloodservices.org/LV).
UBS is always interested in creating partnerships for new blood drive sponsors in our community. To learn more about organizing a mobile blood drive, please call 702-228-4483.
