Guests will enjoy a little black dress competition, featuring designs from students at The Art Institute. The competition will provide a scholarship opportunity for the winning student design. Additional current fashions will be presented by Vasari Boutique and modeled by talent from BESTAgency. The event will also include a cocktail reception and raffle prizes.
The chic event will raise funds and awareness for the Las Vegas Fashion Council, a not-for-profit trade association that welcomes members ranging from fashion professionals, students, community leaders, philanthropists and organizations that have a common desire to diversify and expand the Las Vegas economy through the efforts of the fashion industry.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Dress for Success Southern Nevada, which helps disadvantaged women find employment by providing them with professional wardrobes and career development tools.
The event is hosted by a committee including Las Vegas Fashion Council’s Founder and President Carrie Carter-Henderson, Events Chair Joey Galon, Jennifer Taler of the Stitch Factory, Joanna Cordero and Tamara Usztan-Allison. Hair and makeup services are being generously donated by Mosaic Salon.
Tickets are a $50 minimum donation and $35 for students with valid ID. All ages are welcome to attend. Tickets can be purchased at www.lasvegasfashioncouncil.com/little-black-dress-event. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
The winner of the Little Black Dress Contest will be selected through guest voting. Guests will vote for their favorite designer by purchasing a special “vote ticket” for $5.00. Votes will be tallied through the tickets sold and the student with the most votes will be granted a scholarship toward their tuition from the funds that the voting tickets raised.
