The award-winning event planner owns the Las Vegas-based Balloons With A Twist and recently celebrated her 20th year in business. “We’ve been busy since September and we are working events and private parties in Summerlin, Henderson and downtown,” Rothstein said.
Consumers are looking for opportunities to shop local and support independent retailers. And they are finding them in Las Vegas.
Amanda Schweisthal, public affairs manager for the Retail Association of Nevada, said , “Local independent retailers and restaurants are looking to put their spell on consumers this Halloween season, offering increased discounts, sales and special promotions. According to recent studies, 50 percent of consumers are looking for such deals, offering independent shops a unique opportunity to compete.”
Jean-Francois Chavanel, managing partner of the Las Vegas-based Popped, said Halloween kicks off the holiday season.
Popped, which ships nation-wide, introduced its holiday 2014 popcorn flavors in conjunction with Halloween.
Specialty flavors for the season include Witches Brew, R.I.P. and Smashing Pumpkin spices. The retailer is also offering a free shipping promotion for purchases over $50 as well as charity promotions. Popped is marketing frozen popcorn for parties and has a specialty size Halloween portion cup on sale for $1.50.
“We want to offer our customers every advantage when they shop local and support independent retailers, like Popped,” Chavanel said.
