Las Vegas – The SK+G Goose Summer Road Trip Campaign wrapped up on Thursday, Sept. 11 when Senior Vice President of Strategy Jim Gentleman and the SK+G Goose dropped off a $1,000 check to Three Square Food Bank—the only food bank in Southern Nevada. SK+G’s donation will provide 3,000 meals to the one in six Southern Nevada residents who are food insecure.
Spanning a 10 week period, the social media campaign followed SK+G’s signature mascot, the goose, as he ventured to iconic Las Vegas locations including the world-famous Welcome to Las Vegas sign, the 550-foot tall High Roller, the Luxor pyramid, gondolas at The Venetian and the Bellagio Conservatory. The goose even got a front row seat at a Las Vegas 51s baseball game and appeared on Las Vegas’ “The Morning Blend” in support of Three Square Food Bank.
Photos captured at the designated locations were posted to SK+G’s social media feeds. Donations were contingent upon the activity of followers. Each tweet or re-tweet using #FollowThatGoose was equivalent to a $1 donation.
“Educating the community on a growing economical difficulty through a social media platform is a significant way to increase exposure and broaden an audience,” said Jim Gentleman, senior vice president of strategy at SK+G. “The Follow That Goose campaign could be viewed as an adaptation of the recent ALS ice bucket challenge and an example of an evolving fundraising effort and we are pleased that SK+G was able to give back to the community.”
