Gordon to present as part of Henderson Chamber Roadmap to Success series
HENDERSON, Nev. — Aviva Y. Gordon, Esq., partner with Ellis & Gordon, will present “Choosing the Right Business Form & Protecting Yourself Against Liability” as part of the Roadmap to Success workshop series from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Henderson Business Resource Center seminar room, 112 S. Water St., near West Pacific Avenue in downtown Henderson.
During the presentation, Gordon will discuss three main points: how to choose the correct business entity; how to form and maintain your business entity, and how to use your business entity to protect against liability.
Gordon moved to Nevada in 1994 and started as an attorney with Mahan & Ellis, a boutique law firm representing the business interests of local, regional and national companies. In 2000, the name of the firm changed to Ellis & Gordon. Ellis & Gordon has been designated by Martindale-Hubble as a member of the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers since 2004.
Gordon has successfully argued before the Nevada Supreme Court and has several reported cases. In 2011, she obtained a multi-million dollar judgment for a local general contractor.
In addition to her private practice, Gordon was general counsel for the Nevada State Democratic Party from 1998 – 2002 and served on the Nevada Judicial Conduct Commission. She has been a featured speaker on Nevada Receiverships, both for attorneys as well as for the Judges of the Eighth Judicial District Court. She graduated from Boston University in 1990 and with distinction from California Western School of Law in 1993. She is a member of both the Nevada and California bars.

The Roadmap to Success workshop series covers all aspects of business critical for business owners to understand and properly execute to stay afloat, especially when times are tough. The series begins in September and continues through May. It comprises 16 workshops covering topics including finance, human resources, law, marketing, and operations, sales and technology.
The Henderson Chamber of Commerce Foundation is a non-profit corporation organized to manage and distribute funds and resources to further the development of the community through activities that are exclusively charitable, scientific, or educational.
