What do you like most and least about your industry?
I enjoy the finance industry due to its diversity. Since finance spans across all industries this allows you to work with and learn about a broad range of businesses. The downside is that financing products and services tend to be looked upon negatively by most people even though they are crucial to our economy.
What business advice would you give someone just starting in your industry?
Work hard, stay humble, never stop learning, and surround yourself around great minds.
What was the toughest Lesson you’ve learned in your career?
The investment banking firm where I started my career was a casualty to the 2008 recession. We went from a strong flourishing international firm to shut down in a matter of weeks. It taught me how quickly you can lose everything and to always remain humble, especially in the good times. When you start to think you are too big or successful to fail then you are already on the decline.
