Two startups can scratch rent off their worry lists for the next 12 months.
Record Setter and Computers for a Cause were awarded downtown Las Vegas office space at $1 a month for a year. The companies were chosen as part of the #1DollarOfficeSpace campaign, put on by The Glenn Group, a Nevada-based marketing agency.
The campaign held an application process in August, and 16 companies made their cases through Instagram videos. Submissions included entries from as far away as Panama, ranging from non-profits to ecommerce retailers.
The two chosen will be housed within The Glenn Group’s office in downtown Las Vegas. The Glenn Group primarily occupies the space, but also shares it with several other companies – a growing trend in today’s work environment.
“The quality of the submissions we received, ideas behind the companies and the caliber of people we interviewed blew us away,” said B.C. LeDoux, president, executive creative director and partner of The Glenn Group. “It made it very hard to narrow down the field.”
LeDoux continued, “Ultimately we decided on two that really reflect our personality as a company. One, Record Setter, that’s all about imagination and fun, and the other, Computers for a Cause, with a mission to better the community.”
