How did you first get into your profession?
I began my career with Wells Fargo Bank when I was recruited in 1988 for a management position in business banking for the Silicon Valley market. I was instrumental in the development and initial application of Wells Fargo’s officer sales training programs, led two separate branch offices to top five overall rankings out of 140 offices, and in 1990 was named as one of the youngest Vice Presidents in the company’s 140 year history.
What do you like most and least about your industry?
Access to capital is a major driver to economic opportunity. Projects become reality because of structured finance and I enjoy seeing ideas become reality. The part of this industry I like least is finding the right balance between entrepreneurial ingenuity and regulatory boundaries that are necessary to maintain stability.
What is a little known fact about yourself?
I am a professional ski instructor for Vail Resorts.
