Regional Manager
Las Vegas, NV
Number of Employees: 14
Years in Nevada: 15
Years with Company: 2.5
Describe your leadership style:
Provide opportunity, lead by example and be fair, but firm.
Biggest business challenge:
Cultivating work in a slower economy. In today’s soft market, I feel this is the time to really put our heads down, work harder, and focus on what it is that we have done right, and learn from what we haven’t done right. It’s also a great time to strengthen current relationships, and without a doubt, cultivate new relationships.
Best business advice:
Provide service and be solution driven. In commercial construction, there will always be obstacles to overcome and issues to work through. That’s the nature of our business.
Who inspired you to get into the business?
My father. He taught industrial arts for some 27 years. In addition to teaching, he had a small construction company that he has kept active, even up until now. With his background, I have been exposed to various types of construction and different construction aspects most all of my life.
How do you retain your best and brightest employees?
I think my employees feel as though they belong to something bigger than themselves. We also offer great benefits including health and dental, 401(k), profit sharing, and all employees get their birthdays off.
What other career(s) did you consider in life?
Most all my life, I have always been exposed to and around construction, so this was something that I have had a lot of interest in while growing up. At one point in time, I also considered being an architect or an engineer. Construction, however, is what I ended up doing and I have no regrets.
