INC magazine recently ranked Las Vegas-based Gatski Commercial Real Estate Services as one of the 5,000 fastest-growing privately held companies in the nation.
Gatski Commercial manages and maintains commercial property for a variety of owners, ranging from large institutional owners to the family investor. The company currently has more than five million square feet in its commercial real estate portfolio and 63 employees working in its new offices on Dean Martin Drive.
Owner Frank Gatski, CPM, CCIM, attributes much of his companyās growth to clients using value-added services the company offers in-house. In recent years, the company launched several new divisions to supplement existing property management, brokerage, leasing, maintenance and landscaping services.
Gatski Commercial added mold remediation, emergency response and most recently, a full service flooring division and showroom. āClients and tenants kept asking us for help with certain tenant improvements, so we obtained a class C contractorsā license and now assist clients with a variety of flooring-related tenant improvements and restoration services that we handle in-house,ā Gatski said.
āThis in-house approach has been well-received, has propelled growth, and has helped us better serve clients by retaining control and managing quality of these important services. Our value-added services also help us earn more business from existing clients, such as when we were able to mitigate water damage on the spot to a clientās property after a recent fire.ā Gatski said the company plans to offer additional construction-related services in the future.
Gatski Commercial recently landed several new clients through competitive bids, including a contract to manage Western America Commercial LLCās four Southern Nevada properties totalling 372,000 square feet. Other new clients include the Nevada State College, The Plazas, Pavilion (a class A office building in Summerlin) and 300,000 square feet of commercial space for DSA Development, including four office buildings and a retail strip center. New clients on the leasing side include Buffalo Square retail center, the Patrick Commons office building and Centennial Plaza, among others.
Many of the commercial property owners that retain Gatski Commercial to manage, lease and maintain their Southern Nevada buildings are located outside of Nevada, including clients in Hawaii, Israel, California, Thailand and France.
Frank Gatski said he strives to hire graduates of Nevada colleges and schools whenever possible, offering advanced training and education in real estate for the right team members. The companyās management team is comprised of a retail executive turned commercial real estate leasing pro, a former hotel concierge and others.
Gatski himself ā a native of Greece who grew up in Southern Nevada ā said his driving force is not only continuing his companyās growth, but also giving back to the community and to his employees.
He maintains traditions such as hiring a masseuse for everyone in the office, treating team members to out-of-town outings, lunch and limo rides for Administrative Professionals Day, birthdays off and group pot lucks the day before each holiday. He also purchases seasons tickets for the Wranglers, the 51s and the UNLV Rebels, which he shares with staffers.
āI take a lot of pride in the fact that we have low turnover for our industry, and as the company grows, I see it as my duty to ensure that we get better at what we do every day,ā Gatski said.
