Alliance Commercial Real Estate and NAI Announced National Affiliation
Alliance Commercial Real Estate Services has joined NAI Global to form NAI Alliance. NAI is the premier network of independent commercial real estate firms and has 300 offices in 92 countries. NAI Alliance will serve as the company’s Northern Nevada partner. “We are proud of the progress we have made since our establishment two years ago as an independent, locally owned and operated commercial brokerage company,” said Paul Perkins, senior vice president of the Industrial Properties Group. “With the maturation of Northern Nevada as a globally viable business location, we recognized the advantages of becoming associated with a network of brokers on a global scale.”
Nevada Company Among First to Achieve LEED Gold Certification
The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) recently announced that Patagonia’s Reno Service Center is the first private company in the nation to receive incentives for its recent gold level Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from U.S. Green Building Council. The center is the first building in Nevada to achieve the LEED gold certification level – the second highest certification possible. The company’s171,000-square-foot expansion was designed to incorporate green technology and was a collaborative effort of architectural firm Tate Snyder Kimsey Architects and general contractor Trammell Crow Construction. Following completion of the project, Patagonia received $25,000 through Sierra Pacific Power Company’s Sure Bet program.
Service1st Bank of Nevada Brings Big Numbers to Market
Service1st Bank of Nevada, a Las Vegas-based business financial institution, reported asset growth totaling $112 million with $21 million based in loans as of March 31, 2007. The bank also reported deposits at $63 million with $29 million based in non-interest bearing demand deposit accounts. The quarterly earnings statement is the first the bank has reported since it opened in January. Average capitalization for new banks in Nevada has been $9 million since 2000. Service1st opened in January 2007 with more than $50 million in capital, the most ever by a bank created in Nevada.

PPIC Provides Medical Malpractice Liability Insurance
Premier Physicians Insurance Company (PPIC), a risk retention group, has insured more than 100 physicians in its first year of business. PPIC has surpassed $2.5 million in capital and approximately $5 million in premium. The group was created to address Nevada’s medical malpractice liability insurance crisis, which developed in 2001 and 2002 when the majority of Nevada’s medical malpractice carriers discontinued offering medical malpractice liability insurance to physicians. PPIC is based on a model encompassing evidence-based medicine, binding arbitration and effective risk management strategies, which result in fewer claims and lower coverage costs. PPIC’s headquarters is in Carson City.
