Korte Company completes Beltway Corporate Center
The Korte Company recently completed work on a 64,143-square-foot Beltway Corporate Center for Eastern and Pebble, LLC, which is located near the corner of Pebble St. and Eastern Ave. The Korte Company was awarded the $5.7 million project as the general contractor and collaborated with the design group, Howard F. Thompson and Associates.
The District at Victorian Square Sells First Release
Trammell Crow Company recently announced that The District at Victorian Square sold out its first release. The first development phase will feature three buildings: a four-level structure featuring single-level condominiums and two three-level structures featuring town home style dwellings. When completed, The District will feature 171 condominiums in downtown Sparks. Additionally, the District is zoned for multi-use allowing small business owners to live and work in the same building. Partners include Trammell Crow Company, commercial real estate services; High Street Residential, environmentally sound urban neighborhoods; James Harwick+Partners, architects; RTKL, landscape architects; Blue Water Studio, interior design; and The Resier Group, real estate sales and marketing.
CORE Construction Completes Phase II of Western High School
Phase II of the Western High School project included the construction of a three-story 120,000-square foot classroom and administrative office building, completed by CORE Construction. Portions of the central heating and cooling plant for the entire campus were also replaced. Phase III included the demolition of the old classroom buildings and the construction of an 80,000-square-foot, two-story classroom building. The Clark County School District recently contracted with CORE Construction to begin construction on Phase III of the Western High School redevelopment. Construction is scheduled for completion in December of 2007.
Major Shopping Center Opens in Southwest
Blue Diamond Crossing, LLC, an affiliate of the Las Vegas-based Juliet Companies, recently announced its latest retail development, Blue Diamond Crossing. The 600,000 square-foot retail power center is located at the northwest corner of Blue Diamond and Valley View Blvd. in the southwest quadrant of the Las Vegas Valley. The value of the retail center at completion is estimated to be more than $120 million. National retailers that have opened their stores for business include Target, Kohl’s, Ross, Office Depot, Cost Plus World Market, Petco and Rack Room Shoes.
City of North Las Vegas Gets its Own Town Center
The city of North Las Vegas will finally have its own town center and gathering place. The new mixed-use retail project scheduled for North Las Vegas will combine lifestyle and large-format store components with approximately 125 stores and restaurants, 800 housing units, and 5,000 jobs. The $300 million development set on a 160-acre site is located at North 5th Street and Craig Road in North Las Vegas. A citywide contest will be held to name the project. The winner will receive a four-year college scholarship, anywhere in the U.S.
Tahoe Reno Industrial Center Records $57 Million in Land Sales
The largest land parcel sold in Northern Nevada was 20,000 acres purchased by NV-Reno Industrial LLC. The company plans for residential housing, retail and light industry on the property. The new landowners will join a Wal-Mart distribution center and numerous other companies such as Union Property Capital, Trammell Crow, and ProLogis. Sale of the property was handled by Lance Gilman Commercial Real Estate Services. When completed, the 104,000-acre Tahoe Reno Industrial Center will be the largest industrial center in the world.
