LIONEL SAWYER & COLLINS NAMES TWO NEW SHAREHOLDERS IN 2008
LAS VEGAS, NV - Laura J. Thalacker and Doreen Spears Hartwell, attorneys at Lionel Sawyer & Collins, have been named shareholders in the Firm effective January 1, 2008.
Laura J. Thalacker, a member of the Firm's Labor and Employment Practice Group, was previously Of Counsel with the Firm. A litigator in Nevada since 1994, Thalacker's practice with Lionel Sawyer & Collins has focused on representing employers in employment and labor law matters. Thalacker provides day-to-day compliance advice and training to employers on a wide range of workplace matters, drafts employment policies, handbooks, and contracts, and litigates employment and labor disputes before federal and state administrative agencies and courts. Thalacker received her J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law, with high distinction, in 1994.

Doreen Spears Hartwell is with Lionel Sawyer & Collins' Litigation Department, where her practice focuses on civil litigation in state and federal courts. Her areas of practice include commercial litigation, employment, real estate, product liability, and trust/probate matters. Hartwell is the 2001 recipient of the Myrna Williams Children's Pro Bono Award, and the 2005 recipient of the Judge Sally Loehrer Pro Bono Service Award. She is also actively involved in the Clark County Bar Association's Trial By Peers Program. Hartwell received her J.D. from Mc George School of Law, University of the Pacific, in 2000, where she was a member of the Traynor Honor Society.
