Pardee Homes Presents a Day of Hope to St. Jude's Ranch for Children

A Volunteer Force of More Than 250 Building Professionals Donate Time and Materials for an 'Extreme' Renovation of the 40-Year-Old Campus in Boulder City, Nev.

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ - Pardee Homes and HomeAid of Southern Nevada, along with a team of more than 100 volunteer subcontractors, have been leading an "extreme" renovation of St. Jude's Ranch for Children in Boulder City, Nev., since early January. This much-needed renovation, valued in excess of $1 million, will be completed over a dramatic nine-hour period on Thursday, Feb. 8 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Called a Day of Hope, the Feb. 8 event will feature 250 volunteer landscapers, painters, plumbers, roofers, flooring and furniture installers racing to finish the renovation in time for a 4 p.m. dedication to the children of St. Jude's Ranch. The residents of St. Jude's Ranch for Children, which is located at 100 St. Jude Street, will leave their homes on Wednesday, Feb. 7 for a night's stay at Circus Circus on the Las Vegas Strip and a day of fun on Thursday at the Adventuredome Theme Park, all courtesy of MGM MIRAGE. They will arrive home by a chartered bus Thursday at 3:45 p.m. for the big reveal of their new beautiful campus and remodeled cottages.


Klif Andrews, president of Pardee Homes, Southern Nevada Division and Kathleen Dye, executive director of HomeAid of Southern Nevada, will present a newly landscaped campus, newly created park and renovated homes to the children as they exit the bus. After a brief presentation, Andrews will officially present the project to the children.


St. Jude's Ranch for Children
For 40 years St. Jude's Ranch for Children in Boulder City, Nevada has provided shelter and healing for abused, abandoned and neglected children. Children are placed at St. Jude's Ranch through the Clark County Department of Family Services. They live in homes on the campus with full-time Family Teachers who teach them life skills to start new lives with new chances, new choices and new hope.

HomeAid of Southern Nevada is a non-profit organization that partners with the building industry to construct and renovate shelters for temporarily homeless families and individuals.
