Reno, Nevada (May 24, 2007) - Christopher Fream, a business development professional, has been nominated as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Man, Women & Celebrity of the Year award. As a candidate, Mr. Fream's responsibility is to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Mr. Fream is assigned two children from the greater Reno-Tahoe area, five-year-old Eathan Hewitt and four-year-old Kaelyn Paxton. Both children are suffering from Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Donations can be made by calling (916) 949-8393 or online at www.active.com/donate/ssacmwoy05/sacCFream.
"I feel extremely honored to have been nominated for the title of 'Man of the Year' in the northern Nevada region. More importantly, I'm exited to be able to make a difference in the lives of youngsters who deal with these horrible diseases on a daily basis," said Mr. Fream.
Founded in San Francisco in 1990, the Man, Women & Celebrity of the Year competition is staged annually in 41 major cities. The competition's goal is to raise funds for the advancement of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
This year's Man, Women & Celebrity of the Year competition began April 5, 2007 and continues through June 1, 2007. Judged solely on a philanthropic basis, the three-winning candidates are those who raise the most funds for the society and their assigned children during an eight-week period. Each dollar raised counts as one vote.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual fundraising event and announcement of the Man, Women & Celebrity of the Year award is June 1, 2007 at the Atlantis Casino and Resort. For more information about the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, please visit www.leukemia-lymphoma.org.
