WinTech, LLC, the creators of virtual receptionist technology ALICE Receptionist recently announced it has raised more than $1.7 million in private funding. With the funding, the company intends to scale distribution, expand sales efforts, launch the ALICE Cloud Service (a new and mobile version of ALICE) at SxSW in early March, and to begin expansion into global markets.
The WinTech team believes ALICE will revolutionize how companies manage their office visitor traffic.
“In today’s world, where relationships and efficiency can be the difference between business success or failure, ALICE is already receiving rave reviews from its installed users for its ability to welcome visitors, facilitate communications, provide useful directory assistance, and make office lobbies more secure, ” said ALICE developer, and WinTech chief technical officer, Mike Yoder. “Developed as a new kind of virtual receptionist, ALICE incorporates two-way video communications, voice & video over IP, touch screens, and mobile connectivity that is easy to install and use at a business friendly price.”
ALICE Receptionist’s patent-pending process utilizes two-way video communications through a Kiosk or flat panel wall mounted touch screen to enable face-to-face conversation between visitors and employees who can be located in the same building or literally anywhere in the world. This enables a full time receptionist to manage many office lobbies virtually instead of just the one he or she may be physically located at. The receptionist can visually see all the lobbies they manage and engage in two-way video conversations with visitors at any office with an ALICE Receptionist system.
Businesses, office complexes and organizations that do not have a full time receptionist can use ALICE to enable existing staff members to manage building visitors with minimal distraction to employees. Employees simply load the ALICE client software on their PC or laptop, which allows them to see and interact with visitors from the convenience of their desk, a meeting room, etc.
With the ALICE Cloud Service to be soon announced, users can take that connectivity with them outside the office ─be that in another satellite office, on their laptop, tablet or even smart phone.
WinTech is one of a growing number of technology startups coming out of the fast growing Las Vegas tech startup community #VegasTech, which some have referred to as the next Silicon Valley. WinTech will showcase ALICE Receptionist at the #VegasTech booth during the South by South West (SxSW) technology conference in Austin, Texas in March 8 – 13, 2013
