LAS VEGAS –Small teams of Cox employees show-up unannounced on the doorstep of 20 local nonprofits this morning in a coordinated four-hour blitz to present a $1,000 surprise donation. The company’s “20K Giveaway” pop-up activity was part of a 20th anniversary celebration acknowledging its presence in Southern Nevada and included activities throughout the year.
“October 1 marked our 20th year of business in Southern Nevada,” said Michael F. Bolognini, vice president and Las Vegas market leader. “We look forward to many more years serving our residential and business customers in Boulder City, Clark County, Henderson, Las Vegas and North Las Vegas.”
The unannounced visits by five teams of Cox employees were composed of a pop-up celebration complete with a themed anniversary cake, balloons and a check for $1,000. The 20 nonprofits were selected randomly by 20-year Cox employees from a pool of local charitable organizations that had received a Cox Charities grant or some other type of charitable support from Cox Las Vegas since the company began operations in Southern Nevada in 1998. Cox will also provide the nonprofits with a complimentary PSA schedule valued at $20,000 to air in 2019.
