2009 on pace to set foreclosures record
Washoe County is on pace to see a record number of foreclosures in 2009 as moratoriums and a push for more loan modifications failed to prevent a flood of foreclosure-related filings nationwide this year. Overall foreclosure-related activity -- notices of default, auctions and bank-owned foreclosures -- continue to be up year-over-year, marked by a record number of filings nationwide in the second quarter, according to RealtyTrac's mid-year foreclosure report.
