High-price homes struggle
The struggling Lake Tahoe housing market got a much needed boost from lower-priced homes in the first half of the year, but it wasn't enough to make up for sales declines seen in houses at the higher end. Sales of homes priced less than $1 million rose to 272 units in the first half of the year, a 7 percent increase from the same period in 2008, according to Chase International's mid-year review.
