Western builders confident
Increased home sales helped boost builder confidence in the West in June, although local experts believe sentiment in Northern Nevada is likely lower than the region as a whole. Builder confidence rose by two points in the West, reaching a reading of 14 in the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index. The increase occurred despite a one-point decline in confidence nationwide to 15. Confidence remains low in the West, however, given that any reading below 50 indicates negative sentiment in the industry. The West also had the lowest score among all regions.
