Taxable sales fall 20.2%
Twenty-seven months. That's how long it's been since Washoe County saw a monthly rise in taxable sales from the same month a year earlier. Wednesday's report on May taxable sales showed a 20.2 percent drop in everything from cars to clothes to electronics across the greater Reno-Sparks area. Not since March 2007 have sales risen from the year before.
