Solutions Recovery is excited to announce that it has created a new role designed for the specific needs of veterans and their interaction with the office of Veteran’s Affairs. The veteran’s affairs coordinator role, filled by Veteran Jane Schmidt, MS,LADC, is a combination of clinical duties and case management.
“Jane Schmidt is an experienced, seasoned therapist who has treated and helped thousands of people address chemical dependency,” said David Marlon, CEO of Solutions Recovery. “She has also served our country and understands what it is to be a veteran. Veterans have their own culture and many of them are bringing previous trauma from their service years. The V.A. in the past has had challenges addressing addiction treatment for our veterans and I am fired up and honored to be able to help our vets with the best addiction treatment available in our country now coupled with specific V.A. competence.”
Solutions Recovery’s model for chemical dependency and addiction treatment is a multidisciplinary approach. It combines a psychiatrist, a counselor, a clinician, and a case manager. The addition of the veteran’s affairs coordinator ensures that veterans will have an extra step to help them with discharge planning, accessing medical care, choice programs, and other V.A.-specific issues that are difficult to manage while getting treatment for chemical dependency and addiction. Solutions Recovery is contracted as a Veterans Choice provider for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
“I am honored to be able to serve our veterans,” said Jane Schmidt, MS, LADC. “Many of these individuals have had an unbelievably hard time throughout their lives. To be able to help them navigate their way through treatment and life after treatment is my honor.”
